Kiwifruit Benefits

The kiwifruit, kiwi or Chinese gooseberry is edible berry of the woody vine species of Actinidia species. The shape is oval, the fruit is fibrous and has dull green brown peel and green golden flesh with rows of small black seed dots. This fruit is highly healthy.


The kiwi has vitamins and minerals and as per World’s Healthiest foods it has vitamin C, K, E. the C raises our defense against illness and infections. Also this vitamin boosts more collagen making for loose cell links and tissues. Some take collagen supplements to postpone aging signs. The E vitamin is amazing for the skin. It is antioxidant and helps you remove unwanted items like toxins and free radicals too. Also the K affects blood clotting and stops blood loss. This is why it is given to newborns after delivery.

For the minerals, kiwi has manganese, copper, potassium. The copper and manganese make growth in tissues and cells, and potassium regulates your fluids and heart pulse, so it keeps cardio health.

Kiwi, integument and sleep

The kiwi also makes better sleep and skin. Medical News Today said kiwi can improve sleep onset, efficiency, duration in adults who had hard time sleeping. Along this, kiwi also has C and collagen for prevention to skin damage from sun and pollution that make wrinkles.


Kiwi can be made in many recipes and added to many meals like the Fresh fruit Flan. All Recipes said the items are 3 peeled and chunked kiwis, blueberries 1 cup, 3 cups strawberries, 2 and 1/8 cup flour, ½ tsp tartar cream, ½ tsp baking soda, ½ cup sugar, ½ cup confectioner’s sugar, ½ cup butter, ½ cup veggie oil, 1 egg, ½ tsp vanilla, 1/3 cup sugar, and ½ tsp vanilla again. For glaze, you need 1 tbsp cornstarch, ¼ cup sugar, ½ cup water, ½ cup orange juice, 2 tbsp lemon juice.

For making this, preheat oven to 175 degrees Celsius, then grease a jelly roll pan with oil, sift in the bowl the flour, tartar cream and baking soda. Add sugar, egg, butter, vanilla and veggie oil in another bowl. The dry items are blended well and the dough is spread on the bottom of the greasy pan, bake it for 12 minutes and let it become golden brown. Allow this to cool after that.

For this filling, cream together vanilla, cream cheese and sugar. Spread this on the cool crust and arrange the fruit on the cream cheese. Refrigerate it. For the glaze, mix cornstarch and sugar in a small pan and whisk water, lemon juice and OJ for a minute. Let this boil on medium heat and allow it to cool. Spoon the glaze and brush it over the fruit  and refrigerate again.
